June 2023 National Teacher of the Month
June 2023 National Teacher of the Month
The Teacher of the Month award is designed to recognize an employee that exemplifies our core values, which are compassion, humility, integrity, loyalty, and discipline. This month we are pleased to announce that our 2023 June National Teacher of the Month is Ms. Miranda of Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool of Schaumburg, IL.
In talking about how Ms. Miranda exemplifies LSP’s core values, the Weinstein family said, “Ms. Miranda has such positive energy and always greets our son with a big hello, huge smile, and warm embrace. My husband and I have felt so comfortable dropping him off each morning. We can tell he has an awesome time at school by all the picture and video updates she posts, including their daily selfies together! We love how she maintains her positivity throughout the day, and we can only imagine how tiring it is caring for a room full of babies and appreciate her compassion, flexibility, and warm nature. We know he is in great hands with all his teachers and are so appreciative Ms. Miranda joined Little Sunshine!”
What age group do you teach?
Infants
What is the name of your classroom?
Lilliput
What do you love most about the age group you teach?
That I get to shape their brains. I will always remember them, even though they will not always remember me. I like that I can watch their milestones. I also really love ALL the cuddles!
What is your favorite curriculum project you’ve ever done in your classroom?
I really enjoy the handprint and feet stamps. It’s great to see how small their little hands and feet are. All the babies make a squishy face when I paint their toes and stamp their feet on paper. It really makes me melt inside!
What do you enjoy most about working for LSP?
I really enjoy the family aspect. Everyone is super sweet to one another; we all have each other’s backs and teamwork makes the dream work!
What made you want to become an early childhood educator?
I have worked with children all my life. Their education is the most important thing to me, and being able to help kids grow is what matters the most.
Who and/or what inspires you?
My mom inspires me. She is my best friend. She always believed in me and has helped shape me into who I am today. She taught me to always stand up for things that are not right, like standing up for a child, friend, or family member.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I love playing with my dog, planting flowers and plants, as well as hanging out with my family.
Tell us one special fact about yourself that no one would expect.
I absolutely love singing, even though I think I am terrible. I also have done some acting!
