Bear Hunt Binoculars Craft Tutorial

Supplies needed:

We’re Going on a Bear Hunt – Michael Rosen (optional)

Binoculars:

1. Toilet paper rolls or two empty cardboard tubes
2. Washi tape or duct tape
3. Glue or tape

Map:

1. Construction paper (brown, white, green and blue)
2. Cotton Balls or Pom Poms
3. Mini Popsicle Sticks
4. Glue
5. Crayons
6. Black Marker

Instructions:

Binoculars

• Cut an inch off the end of the tube first (This will be used as the connecter)
• Cut the remaining tube in half (This will be either side of the binoculars)
• Grab the tape and cut off a large enough strip to wrap around the cardboard tube.
• Cut the strip in half so that it can be divided between the top and bottom of the tube.
• Place a hole on the outer side of the cardboard tubes
• Remove a small portion of the circle tube
• Fold the bottom portions of the cut piece to create flaps
• Put a small amount of glue on either side of the connecter piece and line it up in the center of the two larger cardboard tubes 
• Grab the yarn and cut off about 1.5 feet of yarn. Fasten each end through the respective holes on the cardboard tubes

Map:

1. Grab your brown construction
2. To create grass, cut out a small rectangle from green construction paper. Then cut lots of tiny slits to create the grass and glued it onto my paper.
3. Take your blue construction paper and make a river.
4. There are many sections you can do. Grab some glue and make some snowflakes, grab cotton balls or pom-poms and make a swirling snowstorm.
5. Use the popsicle sticks to make trees. Cut the green construction paper in a triangle shape. Take a dot of glue and place the triangle on the popsicle stick.
6. Grab white construction paper and make your bear cave.
7. Use a black marker to create the path.
