Bear Hunt Binoculars Craft Tutorial
Get a closer look at some of the mighty kings of the forest with our Bear Hunt Binoculars Craft tutorial. This simple, at-home activity is a fantastic way to improve fine motor skills while spending time with the family.
Supplies needed:
Book
We’re Going on a Bear Hunt – Michael Rosen (optional)
Binoculars:
- Toilet paper rolls or two empty cardboard tubes
- Washi tape or duct tape
- Glue or tape
Map:
- Construction paper (brown, white, green and blue)
- Cotton Balls or Pom Poms
- Mini Popsicle Sticks
- Glue
- Crayons
- Black Marker
Instructions:
Binoculars
- Cut an inch off the end of the tube first (This will be used as the connecter)
- Cut the remaining tube in half (This will be either side of the binoculars)
- Grab the tape and cut off a large enough strip to wrap around the cardboard tube.
- Cut the strip in half so that it can be divided between the top and bottom of the tube.
- Place a hole on the outer side of the cardboard tubes
- Remove a small portion of the circle tube
- Fold the bottom portions of the cut piece to create flaps
- Put a small amount of glue on either side of the connecter piece and line it up in the center of the two larger cardboard tubes
- Grab the yarn and cut off about 1.5 feet of yarn. Fasten each end through the respective holes on the cardboard tubes
Map:
- Grab your brown construction
- To create grass, cut out a small rectangle from green construction paper. Then cut lots of tiny slits to create the grass and glued it onto my paper.
- Take your blue construction paper and make a river.
- There are many sections you can do. Grab some glue and make some snowflakes, grab cotton balls or pom-poms and make a swirling snowstorm.
- Use the popsicle sticks to make trees. Cut the green construction paper in a triangle shape. Take a dot of glue and place the triangle on the popsicle stick.
- Grab white construction paper and make your bear cave.
- Use a black marker to create the path.
