August 2021 National Teacher of the Month

August 2021 National Teacher of the Month

The Teacher of the Month award is designed to recognize an employee that exemplifies our core values, which are compassion, humility, integrity, loyalty and discipline. This month we are pleased to announce that our 2021 August National Teacher of the Month is Ms. Anna of Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool of Lakeway.

In talking about how Ms. Anna exemplifies LSP’s core values, Program Director, Ms. Judy said, “I cannot thank you enough forMs. Anna, August 2021 Teacher of the Month all that you do for your class. Allowing your class to explore with such fun activities is such an understatement. You are full of ideas and love to share them with your students. Thank you for being so flexible over the last couple of months! You have stepped up and you are working those longer days without hesitation to ensure your class is covered. You are truly a rockstar and so happy to have you on the LSP Lakeway team!!”

Here is some fun information about her and what makes her such a standout!

What age group do you teach?
Toddlers

What is the name of your classroom?
Wonderland

What do you love most about the age group you teach?
What I love most about toddlers is how playful they are! It amazes me how anything and any situation can be made fun and meaningful.

What is your favorite curriculum project you’ve ever done in your classroom?
I had a blast creating the Rainforest and Desert scene in March.  The children were so engaged while helping create the curriculum project and while playing with the project they made.

What do you enjoy most about working for LSP?
Having the support and inspiration from all my AMAZING coworkers, especially Ms. Judy. I don’t know where I would be without Ms. Judy!

What made you want to become an early childhood educator?
My youngest sister is my inspiration. She was delayed in many areas as a kid and had multiple therapists to help her. I always insisted on watching and helping where I could. I thought I wanted to be an OT for the longest time but after working a summer at a daycare back home I knew it was my calling.

Who and/or what inspires you?
I love seeing a child happily engaged in play. When a student shows an interest, I try to give them activities that they like. My coworkers that I can connect with through our private group and in the school are a huge form of inspiration as well!

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I am a very active person! I love hiking, swimming, boating, gardening and grilling! I am the happiest when I am outside. I just try to enjoy every moment.

Tell us one special fact about yourself that no one would expect.
I have the goal of visiting every national park.
