August 2022 National Teacher of the Month

The Teacher of the Month award is designed to recognize an employee that exemplifies our core values, which are compassion, humility, integrity, loyalty and discipline. This month we are pleased to announce that our 2022 August National Teacher of the Month is Ms. Elysia ofMonth is Ms. Elysia of Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool of Colorado Springs.  Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool of Colorado Springs.

In talking about how Ms. Elysia exemplifies LSP’s core values, Program Director, Ms. Emma said, “Ms. Elysia is our wonderful toddler teacher in Wonderland and one of our excellent head teachers. When she isn’t in the classroom teaching the little ones and doing fun educational lessons, activities, and art; she is helping teachers in their classrooms and setting a great example for others. Ms. Elysia is loved by all the students and parents. She is an amazing leader and makes sure to keep everyone on track all while being a loving and supportive teacher.”

What age group do you teach?
Toddlers

What is the name of your classroom?
Wonderland

What do you love most about the age group you teach?
I love seeing their little minds learn something new each day!

What is your favorite curriculum project you’ve ever done in your classroom?
My favorite curriculum project I have done with my little ones is making art projects with them using their hands and feet.

What do you enjoy most about working for LSP?
What I enjoy the most about working at LSP is getting to know my families and working with some of the best co-teachers.

What made you want to become an early childhood educator?
I have always loved working with children and being able to teach our future leaders, while seeing them grow big and tall.

Who and/or what inspires you?
My daughter inspires me every day to always be the best and show her that she can do anything that she sets her mind to!

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I like to spend time with family and relax watching funny TV shows. I also love to explore different restaurants to try new foods.

Tell us one special fact about yourself that no one would expect.
One special fact about is that I am shy and quite at first but once you get to know me, I open up and love to have a good time! You will always see me laughing and smiling.
