December National Teacher of the Month

The Teacher of the Month award is designed to recognize an employee that exemplifies our core values, which are compassion, humility, integrity, loyalty and discipline. This month we are pleased to announce that our 2020 December National Teacher of the Month is Ms. Peggy of Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool of The Woodlands.

In talking about how Ms. Peggy exemplifies LSP’s core values, Program Director, Ms. Karri said, “Peggy is one of our Ashdown Forest infant teachers. She is hard working Ms. Peggy, December 2020 Teacher of the Monthand always has fun and engaging lesson plans for her class. Peggy is a team player and is always willing to pitch in to help other teachers. She always does a great job of pumping up other employees around the school and brings so much positivity to our building.  She loves her babies and their parents, and they love her!”

What age group do you teach?
Infants

What is the name of your classroom?
Ashdown Forest

What do you love most about the age group you teach?
I love the babies! They are so sweet and innocent.

What is your favorite curriculum project you’ve ever done in your classroom?
My favorite curriculum project was when we introduced a guitar for the babies to explore and play with.

What do you enjoy most about working for LSP?
It is a wonderful place, and my co-workers feel more like family.

What made you want to become an early childhood educator?
I have always loved working with children. I have a passion for helping them learn and grow.

Who and/or what inspires you?
My co-teacher Ms. Airene is my inspiration. She is a fantastic co-teacher and we balance each other out nicely.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I love to take my dogs to the park, spend time with my family and ride my bike when the weather is nice.

Tell us one special fact about yourself that no one would expect.
I used to be a biker babe and ride on the back of my husband’s motorcycle.
