The Teacher of the Month award is designed to recognize an employee that exemplifies our core values, which are compassion, humility, integrity, loyalty and discipline. This month we are pleased to announce that our 2022 June National Teacher of the Month is Ms. Jordan of Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool of Scottsdale.

In talking about how Ms. Jordan exemplifies LSP’s core values, Program Director, Ms. Latryce said, “Jordan is just a fantastic infant teacher, in the shortMs. Jordan, National Teacher of the Month June 2022 amount of time she has been with our LSP family she has earned the love, trust, and respect from parents, teachers, and students! Ms. Jordan is always going above and beyond for all her students, making sure all their needs are met while still having an engaging classroom. When Jordan walks into the building everyone just lights up with joy!”

What age group do you teach?
Infants

What is the name of your classroom?
Hundred Acre Woods

What do you love most about the age group you teach?
I love being able to see all my babies every day and just watching them grow.

What is your favorite curriculum project you’ve ever done in your classroom?
My favorite project is anything sensory bin! I love watching my students learn new and exciting things and seeing them dig into the sensory bins is just so exciting.

What do you enjoy most about working for LSP?
How much we all care about each other, it really does feel like a second home to my daughter and me.

What made you want to become an early childhood educator?
I absolutely love children and helping them and guiding them in the right direction. We all learn differently and being able to help children explore their capabilities is a gift.

Who and/or what inspires you?
My head teacher, Daytona, has helped me a ton with ideas and how to expand my curriculum-based learning by adding in new learning activities and helping me come up with new ideas. My daughter also inspires me as she is changing and learning every day!

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Hiking, hanging out with friends, getting pampered, shopping, and getting coffee.

Tell us one special fact about yourself that no one would expect.
I love animals, I have three dogs and a tortoise. I am from Nebraska born and raised and have lived here in AZ for a year! I’m a certified medical biller and coder as well.
