March 2021 National Teacher of the Month

March 2021 National Teacher of the Month

The Teacher of the Month award is designed to recognize an employee that exemplifies our core values, which are compassion, humility, integrity, loyalty and discipline. This month we are pleased to announce that our 2021 March National Teacher of the Month is Ms. Heike of Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool of Colorado Springs.

In talking about how Ms. Heike exemplifies LSP’s core values, Owner, Ms. Aubrie said, “Ms. Heike is the most loving and caring teacher. She makes each student her own. The babies love her as much as she loves them! The infants get so excited to see her every morning. Ms. Heike has been with us for almost five years. She is one of the most consistent and punctual teachers we have at LSP. She plans fun activities and art projects, as well as educational lessons for the infants.”

Here is some fun information about her and what makes her such a standout!

What age group do you teach?
Infants

What is the name of your classroom?

What do you love most about the age group you teach?
Nurturing the infants and watching them grow into little toddlers makes me so happy. Being able to give them snuggles and love, knowing that will help them feel happy and secure and develop into successful and happy children in the future gives me great joy.

What is your favorite curriculum project you’ve ever done in your classroom?
Currently, I am really enjoying doing the Dinosaur Discovery unit. The infants and I love doing the dinosaur dance and we really enjoyed doing our volcano science experiment too.
